Let me tell you about the alchemy system of Automobile industry.
You'll buy a brand new car with a loan, you'll ride it till the first limit of your automobile inspection runs out, then you'll put the capital gain as a deposit and buy a next new one with a loan... that system.
You can always have a dream of "Which new car shall I ride next !".
But theres another word called "Depreciation".
Car is a movable property and once you bought it, the value just goes down.
And by 10years time the value becomes nothing.
"So I should get a new car before it's too late !" That sounds like a clever idea.
But is that really true? Is that really clever?
Hear's one interesting data.
according to last years data of current car possesstion in Japan, the average car age is 7.23years old. And average years of used (the length of how long the car is used) is 11.67years. And this number is increasing every year.
This proof tells us we need to doubt the alchemy system is not actually working.
So from here is the story that I wanted to talk about.
The chief editor of "Cruisin" the car magazine has put out a free paper.
The paper is only about the cars way older than the average that I mentioned about just now.
It's not the blah blah about the outlaw or it's not even about being retro.
To keep a old car, you really need a whole lot of passion.
It's a sanctuary far far away from system.
The constructional depression of the automobile industry, correct the constitution of excessive consumption.
Maybe these are the hints to survive our time.

突然だけど、自動車業界の錬金システムについて話そう。

新車をローン購入して最初の車検まで乗って
その車の売却益を頭金にローン組んで、次の車を買ってまた
最初の車検まで乗ってその車の売却益を頭金に....ってヤツだ。
『ボク次は、どんな新車にのろうかナ！』
なんて夢を、素敵な夢をわれわれは、見れるワケだ。

原価消却って言葉も知ってるよな。
車は、いわゆる動産ってヤツで固定資産を所持するコトに類する。
最初に買った値段からどんどん値が下がって１０年で０円になるってヤツだ。
そんなワケで、１０年を過ぎた車は、価値がゼロってことだ。
『なるはやで、買い替えたほうがお得だね！』
クレバーな人間は、誰しももそう考えるはずだ。

果たして本当にそれでいいのか？

ここで、ひとつ興味深い資料がある。
昨年の発表のわが国の自動車保有動向によると
平均車齢（いわゆる車の平均年齢）は、7.23年
平均使用年数（車の寿命ね）は、11.67年となる。
しかも、それは、年を追って増加の傾向にある。
現在システムが正常に機動しているのか疑問である。

長い前置きになったけど、ここで本題。
Cruisin'という車の本の編集長が独立してフリーペーパーをつくった。
上記した平均使用年数をはるかに越えた自動車の世界の本だ。

決してアウトローの戯れ事でも、単なる懐古主義的な遊びでもない。
旧い車を走り続けさせる事には、多大な情熱を要する。
システムとは、無縁のサンクチュアリだ。

自動車業界の構造不況。過剰消費体質の是正。
今の時代を切り抜けるヒントは、
もしかしたらこんなところになるのかも知れない。
